North Toronto Auction listed in 2013 PROFIT 500 ranking of fastest-growing companies

PROFIT magazine unveils 25th annual list of Canada’s Fastest-Growing Companies.

Innisfil, ON (June 3, 2013) PROFIT Magazine today identified North Toronto Auction in its 25th annual PROFIT 500, the definitive ranking of Canada’s Fastest-Growing Companies. Published in the Summer issue of PROFIT Magazine and online at, the PROFIT 500 ranks Canadian businesses by their revenue growth over five years.

North Toronto Auction, Canada's largest independent Auction, made the PROFIT 500 list in its tenth-year anniversary. The company holds dealer auctions bi-weekly, making it the largest regional closed auction, and it also holds 24 public auctions each year.

The company was launched in 2003 with 10 staff members and now has more that 150 full-time and part-time employees. It has undergone constant growth, starting with a property of two acres and expanding through land acquisitions to now operate on a total of fifteen acres. The auction facility is centrally located in Innisfil, ON, forty-five minutes north of Toronto.

Over the years, North Toronto Auction has secured contracts with the Federal Government, the Province of Ontario, the City of Toronto, municipal governments, registered automotive dealers, and OEM’s to successfully auction both vehicles and equipment on their behalf.

“To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Fastest-Growing Companies in Canada, the PROFIT 500 has expanded to recognize the entrepreneurial achievements of more than 500 Canadian companies,” says Ian Portsmouth, Editor-in-Chief of PROFIT magazine. “PROFIT is proud to now showcase Canada’s forward-thinking small business entrepreneurs and honour their talents and innovations.”

“We were the first auto auction to allow the public access to buy vehicles online during a live auction, and also the first auction company in Canada to embrace and initiate ‘Full Disclosure,’ thus raising the level of openness and transparency for vehicle purchases,” said Stuart Ralph, an owner-partner in the company.

North Toronto Auction has developed a vehicle and asset hybrid remarketing solution that combines the traditional auction with web-based technology and marketing for dealer-only or public auctions. Other initiatives implemented by the company include the launch of custom-built, online vehicle remarketing websites for manufacturers under the company’s AutoGavel brand.

Further, AutoGavel Exchange (AGX) has been built to assist automotive OEMs and their dealer networks to support their Certified Pre-Owned Programs and exchange inventory.
